How I Think About Passwords vs Systems

Passwords get all the attention, but there’s something more important happening in the background.

Everyone talks about strong passwords. And yes, they matter. But focusing only on passwords means missing what actually protects your accounts.

The real protection comes from the systems around your accounts: recovery options, two-factor authentication, what email addresses are attached to what accounts, and knowing which accounts matter most. A strong password on a forgotten account doesn’t protect you. But a solid system does.
